Contemplating creativity
I woke up today needing to think about creativity and how I can develop mine. I feel like I flit from thing to thing, but I'm not called to something - what I want to paint. So today I read some articles, looked at notes from old workshops, pulled out pictures that I might like to work from, and decided it might be time to do "The Artist's Way" book by Julia Cameron again. It is described on the cover as a "course in discovering and recovering your creative self." I did it at least 15-20 years ago, and it was amazingly powerful at the time. So when I return from traveling, I will begin again.
"We like to focus on having learned a skill or on having made an artwork. This attention to final form ignores the fact that creativity lies not in the done but in doing." Julia Cameron
