inspired by fleeting moments

It's not always possible to blip the things that inspire me most. I watched bats fly by me as I sat supping my bedtime drink in the garden the other night. Impossible to record the magic moment. Then today, twice I saw a butterfly on the buddlea but by the time I had my camera at the ready, they were away......

This little creature obliged me by staying around long enough for me to blip him. I thought it was a bumble bee, but on closer inspection, his wings seem a little too long and his thorax too shiny. It seems like a cross between a bumble bee and a bluebottle. A bumble-bottle, perhaps?
