Birthday Girls.
Today is Gem and Mom's Birthday. We had a lovely formal breakfast in the Grande reasturant. Mom had got Gem a T shirt with '30 is fabulous' on, a flashing tiara and the table was decorated with baloons and sprinkles - Gem loved the attention. She got a blueberry muffin with a candle in and the waiters sang happy birthday again. We then headed to 270 bar so they could open their presents before heading to the musical hall for a Michael Jackson thriller dance class. We thought it was for everyone to join in so Gem Charlotte and Mom got up doing the thriller dance, but it turns out they group had been practicing the whole cruise - very funny. The instructor noticed gems tiara so got everyone in the group to sing a zombie style happy birthday to her - definitely one of the highlights of today!
We went to a q&a session with the captain which mom loved (the famous storm cruise was mentioned once or twice), and I then decided to attempt the flo rider as Stu was having a final go. It was freezing and had started to rain but I wanted to have a go before leaving. I basically held the instructors hands for what felt like half an hour and then let go for about ten seconds before falling off! At least I tried! As we were freezing Stu and I headed to the indoor solarium - we hadn't realised this even existed and it was amazing.
Back to the room to get ready for a posh dinner in the Grande. Lovely food again and a third (fourth if you count the one at home) birthday cake for Gem (this one organised by mom).
This was followed by drinking, a comedian, a trip to the casino (mom quadrupled her/dads money) and midnight pizza - what a great way to end a fantasic cruise!
Very sad it's over, but looking forward to seeing Jeff and Julie in New York tomorrow.
