What a wonderful surprise!

We visited quite a lot of Open Studios during the Frome Festival, but this painting is the one that really caught my eye. It was painted by Amanda Bee, a fellow tutor at Somerset Skills & Learning. I was really tempted but, as it was only a few days before my birthday, I knew my other half would have already spent some money on me and didn't want to be greedy.
I told Amanda how much I loved it, and asked if she had any plans to produce cards of this image (I've already bought cards of some of her paintings.) Imagine my surprise when, a few days later, she gave this to me as a gift! She said that it would only have gone back into a box until her next exhibition and that she would far rather it went to someone who loved it - and I certainly do! This photo really doesn't do it justice.
