The Matthew

Today was the first full day of Bristol's annual Harbour Festival. 200,000 people will attend the free event over the weekend, there are lots of stages playing all sorts of music, cabaret, circus tents, dancing, lots of lush food and local cider of course and lots and lots of boats and displays on the harbour. This photo is of The Matthew- a replica of the boat that Cabot sailed from Bristol to Newfoundland over 500 years ago which is usually moored next to Brunel's SS Great Britain in the floating harbour.

It was really, really busy and the sun actually came out today but it was great to see Bristol enjoying itself as only Bristol knows how- with cider, boats and a free festival.
