Retirement Day: Tour de Yorkshire - women's race
I CAN STILL MATTER
As time passes on
I turn the next page
To discover a new me
while I continue to age.
I may no longer be
Who I was long ago
But I still can matter
—
That much I know.
With a new set of tools
I have gathered from time —
I keep looking forward
To more mountains to climb.
My best is not over
As the skeptics might say —
I just learn how to conquer
In a much wiser way.
So don’t sell me short —
I am not nearly done —
I CAN STILL MATTER —
I’ve only just begun.

My final quote expresses the hope that retirement can bring and I intend to fulfil.
Today the Tour de Yorkshire came to our village and I took loads of pictures this morning of the women,s race. I have chosen two. My main pic I liked because I think I captured a little bit of the speed of the riders. Then the extra is the person who was leading the race and is the great women's rider, Lizzie Armistead.
We were going to return for the men's race later in the afternoon but it started to rain and my friends decided to return home and so I nipped off to watch Barnsley who should have won but ended with a draw which takes us to Wigan next week for our last chance at getting to the play offs. So a busy day really but all fun as befits a retiree.
