Local benefactor
A beautiful late afternoon after some hail showers this morning.
Had a walk round the village for inspiration and this was the photo which I liked best.
Our village church which was built in 1830.
The largest monument is this one on the grave of William Ackroyd.
He was a local mill owner and paid £2000 in 1876, to purchase 3.5 acres to increase churchyard. So I suppose he deserves pride of place.
As with many days lately the end was the best
part.
We were very sorry to have missed the Tour of Yorkshire on TV " due to a technical fault ".
Hope they get it sorted for tomorrow.
