Bad feather day?

Rich and I took a trip to a local garden centre for lunch. There is often a robin in the garden centre plant area and the staff put out bird food. Today there was an adult robin and a chick flying around. The adult seems to have lost all of its feathers from its head, I assume the bird is just growing new ones but it did look a bit strange.

Other than the lack of feathers on the adults head, they both seemed in good health. There is lots of food around and the adult had a spider for the chick. I might have to go back in a few weeks and see if it looks any better.
