Le Moulin Rouge

We couldn't decide whether to walk along the Seine or to go up to Montmartre today, so we did both.  We had breakfast at Le Pain Quotidian at Le Marché Saint-Honoré and then walked to Les Jardins de Tuileries, along the Seine and to Place de la Concorde.

We took the Metro up to La Pigalle and then walked up lots and lots of steps to Le Sacre Coeur - it nearly killed me!

It was very busy with tourists, but we managed to get a table outside a bar in Montemartre and because it was sheltered, we felt very warm in the sun.  We had a couple of drinks and then walked back, with a slight detour to see Le Moulin Rouge.  I wanted to get a nice photo of it as my friend Vanessa used to be a dancer at Le Moulin Rouge in the early 1990's - it'll bring back memories for her, I'm sure. I've put a selection of other photos from today in my extras if you'd like to see them.

We got back to the hotel about 3pm and had an hour in the room before check out. Once checked out, we went and had a late lunch at an Italian restaurant at Saint-Honoré.

It's been a lovely weekend, but over too quick and we're now on our way back to the airport.  At least it's a bank holiday weekend and we have an extra day off before work.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
