Favorite-color Flowers

These are flowers from the desert.

The day I dropped out of school,
I said I'd see them this year, not next year,
and definitely not in five years.

Here they are.

The yellow ones, I found near San Vincente Elementary School.
They had a swingset in the playground in the middle of the Chihuahuan Desert. Once, I sat there to watch the sunset over the mountains.
