rootin, tootin, scootin girl...

not sure this was a good idea this afternoon, letting little un loose on her scooter, but she looked like she needed a good blast of fresh air after our miserable morning... 

We were happily playing at home together when Little un dislocated her arm again... it's called a pulled elbow, where the bones slip out of alignment... it happened once before and we were able to get it manipulated back into place by the local doctor (not the nicest of procedures, but did the trick)   however today is a bank holiday... so after an hour and a half of waiting for NHS 24 to ring us back, we were then sent off to the Sick Kids Hospital in Edinburgh ...  having navigated roadworks on the A1, cyclists on the coast road, and the road through Holyrood park being closed, we eventually arrived to a packed A&E waiting room... The staff  were great, but just very busy and Tiddlypom's injury was low risk by comparison to some of the very poorly wee one's, so we had a long wait...but she was awesome,  amazingly patient, calm and brave... in fact the biggest tears were when the nurse told her that she had to leave the toy bus behind...   All in all 6 hours of worry and pain that we could all have done without... so this afternoon we had to make the most of the remainder of the day...but as she boldly donned her helmet and the steam and dust started flying from her little heels,  I did have a moment's misgiving, as I'd really like to avoid another hospital run... especially on the same day...
