An Unplanned Visit

This morning Clare and I made our usual five-and-a-half hour drive from London to Darlington to visit my mum in her care home.

As we were sitting having fish and chips for lunch before setting off to The Lawns we got a phone call to say mum had complained of chest pains earlier in the day and had been taken off to the local hospital.

So instead of an afternoon at The Lawns with mum watching the racing on TV we went off to track her down at A&E.

Five hours later, mum looks okay but is spending the night in hospital for further checks. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
