or Snow Flower. The most amazing bright red flower that I have seen in Nevada. When there is still snow in the forest, they come through the ground. It feels relatively hard, also it's stem is made the same way as the top, only a little narrower. No green. Looks like a cactus flower.

We went for a great walk near Thomas Creek, which was fast running today. The area lay under a great sky and attracted many dog walkers and mountain bikers.
