Carnaval Dancers
This evening was the annual Carnaval Parade here in Zihuatanejo. In year's past this event has coincided with the real Carnaval held throughout the rest of the world, but for some inexplicable reason it was moved from February to the last day of April - today. I think participation suffered from the change of date. There seemed to be fewer floats, fewer groups, fewer spectators than last time I photographed this fun event. Nonetheless, it was a photographer's dream to have this many colorful costumes to shoot. I attempted a lot with relatively slow shutter speeds, hoping for movement rather than a static image. Some were too slow and the resulting shot was all blurry, some were too fast and the photo contained no movement. This one, however, was just right.
