The Rest of the Story

We witnessed something pretty bizarre in the taking of this photo. We were walking Kirb and letting him swim near the Marion Street Bridge in Salem. We heard voices above us, and saw an older man, a younger girl, and a teenage boy. I heard the boy ask the old man, "Should I throw it at them?" and the old guy says, "Yeah, go ahead." The kid then chucked a Gatorade sized bottle at the geese below them (by the splash of the bottle it may have been glass - definitely heavier than empty plastic). Luckily, he narrowly missed the geese. They see us looking up at them, then the old man hightails it out of the picture. I yelled up at the kid: "HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING??" He yells back, "What are you going to do about it?" then walks out of view. Tom and I stood there, flabbergasted by what we had just seen. Great role model, the old man. Was he their father? He must be so proud. They all have many lessons to learn. Thank God he missed the geese. If only the geese had risen up above the water and the bridge, and dropped their own "bombs" on the walking threesome. Oh, they'll get theirs in time.
