Locust

We used to have a whole row of these trees along the north side of the yard. But, locusts grow fast and are brittle, so a couple split in half and one was messing with the power lines, so our view to the north has changed. I miss the trees: for the privacy they afforded and for the show they put on. For many weeks in the spring they are either shedding seeds casings or petals. Later the seeds. And while now we can spot the birds who rest there more easily, there are far fewer birds to see.
