Overlooking a garden

A windy and showery day today and after a false start this morning I had a walk around the roads with the cats and then took Susie up to the Tower, again (Rosie gave up), where we met a tour guide from Philadelphia having a one day tour of Oban!

This picture is looking down on the garden of a friend who lives below the Tower - this is probably Rhododendron barbatum, or maybe a hybrid of it. I must look more closely when I walk past her garden tomorrow. I'm a bit annoyed by the stem of last year's rosebay willowherb across the rhododendron, but I wasn't about to the climb the fence to get rid of it!
