Midday in Paris

Arrived yesterday evening. Met up with H. Stocked up with bread and ham and cheese and wine. H full of a cold.

This morning, went for a run to the canal, along the canal, to the Parc Villette - very funky. Back through the Park de Buttes-Chaumont. After lunch, the three of us went to the Jeu de Paume for a couple of photography exhibitions. Helena Almeida was very good - playful stuff. Francois Kollar was a bit more workmanlike.

Then we met up with R and P and had a good meal at the Cafe de Commerce. C and I ate there during our first trip to Paris more than 20 years ago. Then, it seemed authentic and workmanlike. Now it seems rather grand. We must have gone down in the world.
