Last day of the long weekend for dad's birthday in Scarborough. A lazy morning of multiple coffees.
Only snap of the day, there's a designated graffiti wall near the supermarket in Scarborough. This was nicely done I thought.
Long drive home to Scotland. We had such a nice time, girls were super glum about leaving their grandparents.
This evening has been momentous. The big little one started questioning me earnestly about the existence of the tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny and Santa. She said she was starting to feel "foolish" because of the way her class mates looked at her when she defended their realness. Isn't that a funny word for an 8 year old to use?
Foolish.
I couldn't bear for her to feel foolish, so after a quick summit with Mr M, we came clean.
She took it all rather well. Seemed relieved actually. So are we. Never really liked the whole lying to your child about a big bloke in red who watched you ALL THE TIME thing. And, frankly, it sucked having to give the credit for finding the perfect gift to a fella wot doesn't actually exist.
She agreed not to tell her little sister.
I think she'll keep her word... For a nano-second :)
