Rainy day in Sheepscombe
I ran a card stall at the Sheepscimbe fete village today. A friend of mine used to live there, and her children went to the village schiol, so I've been there many many times.
This year, though, the schoolchildren did not dance around a May pole, and vigorous rain around lunchtime put off the customers. I was packed up and home again by 3.30, by which time the sun was shining again!
My stall did not do badly, though, and managed to buy a Spice rack with 12 jars for £3, as well as winning a bottle of British red wine! Surely that is the true joy of being at a fete: buying more junk to take home?
