Arcadia

ARCADIA - This building in Portrush pictured sits out uniquely on the edge of the sea with a children's play park directly attached to it which stretches along one of Northern Ireland’s stunning coastline. The Arcadia is Portrush’s most iconic building, both architecturally and historically. Once a famous local ballroom, the venue is still as popular as it ever was, with both the local community and visitors to the area. It has a cute coffee shop/icecream parlour, art gallery and is used for functions including weddings due to its popular view. With the Atlantic Ocean almost completely surrounding the building, you can enjoy breath-taking views of the beautiful seascape and nearby Portrush East Strand beach. On the other side of this building is an outdoor sitting area which dangles over the sea and we sit there for the perfect spot when Portrush have their annual Airshow every September. The Red Arrows always fly over with an amazing entrance over our heads. Today though blustery managed to stay blue skies despite 10 minutes of hailstones!!

The additional photo is when we returned later for dinner at the Bistro that overlooks Arcadia and the lovely grounds that surround it are beautiful that bloom in summer.

They had also set up for the annual Northwest 200 motorbike races which start next week. Portrush is also famous for its big golf tournaments at the Royal Court hotel golf resort.

Hope you all had a nice Bank holiday Monday!
