Donkey's Gate

The "Donkeys Gate" (is one of the four left over town gates) is in its origin a medieval town gate. Built original in about 1369. Various alterations were carried out between 14th & 17th centuries. The lower section of this brick gate is still authentic .But the old medieval gate was higher . This view shows the result of the 17th century rebuilding of the gate . Nowadays  bicyclist and pedestrians use it as a passage to get safe in town .And inside in the top of the gate is an office for a classic music group.
