Yours and Mine!

My blip for today was taken while I was out for a drive, it's a photo of part of an open cut coal mine called Mt Arthur. Regardless of our position on coal and climate change, the world needs energy while it makes the transition to a cleaner energy environment. In the middle of the picture is a truck carrying between 250 to 350 tons of overburden covering the seams of coal. The mine produces around 20 million tons of coal per year. Despite having a number of mines in close proximity to our town , the industry is a positive contributor and provides many benefits that I will blip in weeks to come.
