Desert rose

We were given this beautiful plant last night. Now to find the sunniest spot for it to flourish in (believe it or not, although we live in the tropics, neither our house in Rio nor the one in the hills gets sunshine all day long, particularly in winter.

Exhausted today and wondering whether to cancel another dinner party we have scheduled for tomorrow night. The temperature has dropped dramatically in the last couple of days and now it's raining hard, so the very thought of driving up to the hills, and then of guests who've never been to the house before having to find their way over the terrible road in the rain .... Ah well, this meal has been postponed a couple of times already, so we'd better go ahead with it. Ooof.
