Poplar Hawk-moth ... apparently ?!?

Very tired, mildly irritated and slightly hungry we finally get back to base for late meal break at 3.30am.
The light in the corridor nor my eyesight isn't best at that time of the morning but I caught sight of an object hanging off the plug socket.
It initially looked like a piece of brown paper hanging off the plug, but on closer squinting and scrutiny all the tiredness, irritation and hunger temporarily disappeared whilst we smart-phone-photographed this creature ...
Made a nice change from all the large spiders, wasps and other curious "things" crawling around the place.
