Manchester Canal Basin
Trying out photo-etching in my latest project at Hot-Bed Press - I'm not sure how this will go as I haven't done much etching and it didn't work out well for me this time last year when there was so much going on. Martin, took four of us through the process of getting the image onto the plate and I really appreciate how clearly he explained the process. Once we left the plates to dry in the cabinet I decided to leave, which gave me a little more time to explore the canal basin. It really does cover a huge area with converted warehouses, new built flats and lots of places to sit out and socialise. It's amazing how the continental outdoor cafe has become something of the norm in our cities too. I bet this has such a different feel to it on an evening. A lovely afternoon for a wander around the area with a camera. I took a few more pics of the bridge structure again - I love all the lines and the way they interact.
Home by five after Ann picked me up at the station.
