Two goose families

I revisited Christchurch Park, Ipswich yesterday for an update on the goslings I saw there last week and got two pictures for the price of one because there is now a second family of eight in addition to the original five.

All young are doing fine and getting along well with each other, but the anxious parents had to intervene a couple of times to explain that fraternisation was not to be encouraged.

A bit like humans really, I suppose.  I remember my mother trying to explain to me why I should not play in the street with "those nasty children out there" although I never did understand why those children in particular!
