Octagonal baptism font, Church of St James

This is an octagonal baptism font in the church of St James, Quedgeley.

It is lead lined, and decorated with tesserae.

Saint James parish church is a medieval 12th Century Church, once known as Saint James the Apostle and Saint Mary Magdalene. The site goes back to 1095. The parish church is situated in School Lane Quedgeley, on the outskirts of the city of Gloucester.

This fits perfectly with my blip of a few days ago.

No, photographing baptism fonts is not my new calling.
