...and who could be more sporting - or more jolly - than a cricketer?

He's here to attract the attention of passers-by on the 'main road' through the tiny village of East Chiltington, a few miles NW of Lewes - and tempt them to the pub, a hundred yards or so along the 'dead end' leading to the village church.
