Sunny Derwentwater

The day started really wet, so a couple of hours theory on exposure,  histograms and depth of field made a good start to the day. We then headed off to Manesty woods and was treated to a really glorious afternoon (although a bit windy at times).

This picture is a combination of two images - the top half a short exposure (1/40th) to record the clouds sharp. The lower half a big-stopper 10 stop ND, to give a slow exposure (20 sec) to smooth out the ripples on the water - as the clouds were moving left to right I didn't want them blurred in the shot. (I do like blurred clouds when they are coming towards you and you get that great "explosion" of clouds from the horizon)
