The Old Oak Tree (Lower Machen)

This is an old photo I found on my hard drive of my favourite tree that is just two minutes drive away that was taken about three years ago.

It's a good 20 feet in circumference and at some time it's been struck by lightning that has split it in half. According to Woodland Trust Oak estimator it dates to about 1600AD.

It's certainly a local landmark and I have seen couples having wedding photo's with it.
