Four-Seasons' Creativity

Pause and carefully look at this mural painted on four silk
panels.  Can you find:
1. Two deer
2.  One Turkey
3.  Eagles
4.  One game in progress
5.  Several chickens

These large panels were painted by young children at the Freedom Elementary School.  The project was led by an artist-in-resident, Sandy Melroy and her creative assistants.  The young artists are all approximately five to nine years of age.  Soon this mural will grace the front stairwell of their school; Imagine painting on silk and enthusiastic
students------ this is the result.  A introduction was held
with actual silkworm cocoons given to each child to keep.
[Did you know one thread pulled from a silk cocoon will stretch up to a mile--it is safe to say that silkworms are also a part of this creative act.]   It is such a joy to know
that creativity is alive and well and ably demonstrated.
Such wonderful work will soon permanently grace the
midst of its creators.  This project "rocks?"
