Sous chefs

Yesterday saw the delivery of my new washing machine as the repair of the old one was deemed financially unviable. No sooner was it installed then the oven blew up! Given that today is Chris's birthday (as well as 007Roo's mummy's) I had to bake his cake at my sister's while I was on my last day of dog duty.

Having such three small dogs and one medium sized dog, I'd forgotten the delights of baking with dogs who can easily reach the worktop. Finding a space to cool sponges away from the long reach of tall dogs' tongues was a challenge.

Here you see Molly and Merlin willing me to drop the cake. Kia was waiting patiently in the doorway just out of sight.

The cake survived and has been assembled ready to eat soon.
