This morning I looked out of the kitchen window and saw a deer, backlit on the edge of the field (see extra). Somehow I managed to sneak into the lane without her seeing me, climb up a bank and poke my lens through an overgrown fence. She knew I was there but could not see me. Our deer are very wild as they are hunted here for a month in the autumn so they do not take kindly to having anything pointing in their direction!
