Pebble

Huge eyes rather reminiscent of  a smooth pebble and beautifully camouflaged against the hawthorn, this newly metamorphosed damselfly gave me the eye. However he was the only one I could see today after slowly scouring the canal banks and I would have missed him if his wings hadn't caught the light just for a split second.

He will be the first of many now as it was sunny and the warmth must have helped to kick start the emergence of these  beautiful insects. Bring it on I say as I just love walking with them fluttering round.
