Looking Forward...

Music Camp 2012

It's concert day! Everyone has packed up and are sporting their fabulous new hero-themed MC'12 t-shirts. It's always quite surreal walking into breakfast wearing the same t-shirt as everyone else. The juniors had light blue tops, seniors royal blue and us leaders got navy ones to distinguish between everyone during the concert.

We performed our hero inspired programme in Kinross High School - which I must say has a much better temperature, acoustics and facilities than Lendrick Muir's freezing games hall where we've performed in the past. Our music included Chariots of Fire, My Hero by Foo Fighters, The Incredibles, some Scottish tunes ("Scottish Heroes"), Summon the Heroes as well as some fantastic orchestral arrangements of worship songs such as 10,000 reasons. The seniors also performed a beautiful acapella arrangement of Fix You and, my favourite song of the moment, Holy Spirit by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend.

It's been a fantastic, God-filled week being a leader at junior camp. We've played some super music, enjoyed some super food and the children have responded really well to the teaching about our superhero, Jesus - although we do joke we could have done Noah/Jonah/something water related with all the flooding/rain/water we've had this week. I'm looking forward to a bit of a rest now after 2 holiday clubs and a camp back to back.
