A wildly unproductive day at the day job followed by wandering idly and then attending the pub quiz. We came in third.

I told my friend Mike back home about the job antics and I can't resist posting his reply.

"I've read your below message and your blip. Email doesn't really cut it at this point, so you'll have to imagine my actually speaking or exclaiming words such as these: "Man o man" and "Wow" and "You're incredible!"

I also envision, for some reason, a hip, fit black woman turning to you at random when you’re standing side by side at a crosswalk and saying, in a rhythmic, emphatic manner: "Damn, girl, you've got some inner strength going on."

I laughed out loud on Lothian Road as I read that last sentence. : )
