Every day miracles are back!
Despite feeling tired and very achy I went into work today and I was rewarded by the spectacle of 5 of these beautiful Large red damselflies Pyrrhosoma nymphula, hatching from our departmental pond! I chose this shot, because you can see the larval skin (exuviae) from which this beauty has just hatched.
I really love it when the Dragons and Damsels hatch from the pond, it never ceases to amaze me.
I have included a shot of a beautiful Pebble prominent moth Notodonta ziczac, from my moth trap as an extra as it isn't a moth I see very often, and a Box bug Gonocerus acuteangulatus, also found at work, another nice, not too common shield / squash bug.
