Cardrona River Willows

This morning the men in the church organised and cooked breakfast for 60 members of the congregation.  The menu included porridge along with bacon, eggs and toast.  It was held at the new Whisky Distillery in the Cardrona Valley.
From there I went to the funeral of a gentleman who has lived in Wanaka all this life.  He was born in 1933, and has lived here since then.  He owned the local garage, and was a volunteer fireman for many years.

This photo is of the willow trees growing by the Cardrona River.  The road in the background is the road we travel on to get to the Snow Farm Ski Field.  The extra photo is of the Distillery, with Mt Cardrona turning red in the early morning sun.  This is a very popular ski field in the winter.  No snow there at the moment.

The NASA weather balloon launch has been postponed with Monday being the next possible date.  Can't see it happening then as it is forecast to rain on Monday!  I hope your weekend is going well.
