Wallflower-scented evening

Yesterday - and the day before - I was glad of my winter jacket on venturing out of the office at lunchtime, whilst fighting against a strong, chill wind on walking around the business park. And it was slightly galling to read that friends 'darn sarth' were enjoying their aperitifs outside in the sunshine after work when we were switching the heating on!

So it was very nice to replace the winter jacket with a fleece for our walk on Alnmouth beach this evening. Not exactly tropical, but 13deg at least felt quite spring-like! And in Alnwick the evening air was full of the heady scent of wallflowers in bloom. Wonderful!
