Coulommiers
Coulommiers is a small brie , a brie that is small, between about 12 and 15 cm in diameter. Now that I did not know.
A few years ago I was invited to friends for dinner and the cheese they served was delicious. It was Coulommiers. I have preferred it to Camembert ever since. I am ashamed to admit that I assumed, and I do not know why, that it was made in Normandy. Some time ago I did a cheese quiz ... not surprisingly I got that question wrong ;-) It is from the Seine et Marne region in the Ile de France.
It is wonderful with a full bodied red!
