Blip meet at Ely

No pics of the Blippers - they didn't stay still long enough! There were 12 or 13 of us (they didn't stay still to be counted!) and we spilt into smaller groups when we reached the Cathedral  (see extra pics) the unique feature of Ely Cathedral is the octagonal lantern which replaced the Norman tower that collapsed in about 1350. It is best viewed from inside - which is the Blip for today. Challenging to photograph due to the enormous contrast between the wooden ceiling and the coloured glass windows - two exposures and merge is the answer - but even so the detail is lost in the windows due to the bright sunshine outside - a dull day would have been better - but only in this respect - it was lovely to walk about in shirtsleeves. Most of us met up again for lunch or snacks before doing our own thing, or going home - two of us had booked to go up to the top of the west tower of the Cathedral at 3pm - perhaps there will be some views from the top in Blipfoto friends Facebook ?
