Learning day by day

Climbing Monkey!

Well we had a violin lesson where we learnt Will needs a new, bigger violin and that he has been invited to the primary schools strings day at the end of the half term. At the said strings day he has also been put in the middle of three levels of orchestra. It will push him without being too hard but his teacher felt the lower orchestra would have been to easy, he would have been bored and we all know what happens when boys get bored...

After the lesson we wandered down to Hitchin market square as the annual Schools Fair in the Square was taking place. All the schools in the town have a stall, the money made on the day is pooled and then divided equally between them. A great concept. Both of mine had a go on this climbing wall (Carys was wearing very appropriate clothing, a beautiful skirt and white sparkling open toe sandals!) and loved it. They went on our schools bowling alley, Will won, splat the rat, Will won, beat the buzzer, Carys won (a brain surgeon in the making her hand was so steady) and various other stalls.

Back home they played in the garden, at five Will had his hair cut. It is possibly shorter than it has ever been, but it looks 'cool' and hopefully will last six weeks before he is complaining of hair in his eyes.

Plan for tomorrow is bike rides all round.
