At ease
Much of the day was spent on trivial domestic chores - although the quantity of recycling that I took down this lunchtime was not trivial at all. I went down in the lift with a neighbour and her dog, and I was definitely hoping she didn't think that was just one evening's or one week's worth of bottles.
Later on we wandered down to the shore to have dinner with S, who is in town with his younger son to visit his older son, who is doing an MSc. They also brought along an old friend from London, and the party included O - who, I think, knew everyone, or knew of them anyway before the evening.
The Ship on the Shore was on typically good form, and then we popped into the Malt and Hops for a night cap before the visitors headed back to the hotel by taxi.
We then walked back up the river. And obviously on the way home, we couldn't see this sofa that has been littering one corner of the Water of Leith for a couple of weeks now.
