Alcazar of Seville
“A doctor can bury his mistakes, but an architect can only advise his clients to plant vines.”
Frank Lloyd Wright
Having visited Cadiz on a previous holiday we thought a trip further afield to Seville would be in order, having been recommended by others who have visited before and know something of my preferences. It's a bit of a trek but well worth it.
Entry to the Alcazar is delayed, which upsets some of the group who push off to explore on their own. The guides are upset at losing their audience, but when we do finally get in, the palace and gardens are well worth the visit, if not the wait.
The city centre has lots of interest for me too, with pavilions from the 1929 Ibero-American Expo, which coincided with the Barcelona International Expo in the same year. Parks and open spaces, wide boulevards, mediaeval narrow streets - a city worth visiting.
