What a lovely thing a rose is!

....Yay back on the internet.......


I will be photographing this rose every year it blooms.   So far, it has given pleasure multiple times.  This rosebush was a gift from my mother on her last visit to Australia in 2010, once picked, the flowers only last for about 24 hours, but exude the most magnificent perfume that consume a room.

I picked this deep velvety and colourful bud, just before it fully bloomed and yet just a few hours later it still shed its petals……hence the photo!
