Ruined and Derelict
On the way home from the weekend Blipmeet in Ely and then some time with my brother, I persuaded my 'chauffeur' to divert via a couple of ruins. The first was a ruined Jacobean mansion, Houghton House, added as an extra - a shell of its former glory. the second stop was not far away at St Mary's Church, Clophill. This was up a very narrow and steep lane but worth finding. The bright sun made it quite popular with others and so it meant a fair bit of waiting for people to move or ducking down low so that they could not be seen. Both these places would be worth visiting on a quiet day with more dramatic skies.
A busy and fun weekend!
