HOLY HAZE

Durham Cathedral is being mended. I'd like to say this was heat haze, but by the time I took this it was beginning to get a bit misty and cool down after a lovely afternoon.

On the way there we visited water vole country, but the mink have been and there's no more evidence of vole activity. The water looks lifeless and littered - like one of the darker scenes from Wind In The Willows. Lots of birdsong though, especially chiffchaffs (see extra).
