Fingland Burn Valley
In the general area around Romanno Bridge in the Scottish Borders. As you can see, it turned out to be a cracker of a day, although it started out very misty and we wondered if we were doing the right thing. But the good thing about going on a walk with others is that you all end up going. Otherwise I would probably have looked out of the window and gone back to bed.
The walk had all the wildlife I was hoping for: lots of lambs (maybe not technically wildlife), lapwings, curlews, larks ascending and buzzards.
I haven't been able to find out anything online about the bridge at Romanno Bridge. There certainly is an old bridge there, but whether it's Roman or even Romanesque, I can't tell you.
