Happy Mother's Day!
To those celebrating this....it can be very happy and it can also be bitter sweet for all who have recently or long ago lost their own mothers....also it can be very celebratory for those new mom's and for one's like my own D i L who has just had her own second child...a little daughter just a bit ago.. Today I am very thankful for my own healthy son and his beautiful lovely family...my very kind and loving daughter in law and my two sweet beautiful grandchildren. I am thankful for my loving mother in law. I also am missing my own mom who passed in 2001.....and also sad and dealing with the news that Big R's father is now in hospice....times have been rather rough for many close ones at this time. Still we are thankful for those who are here and healthy and wish you all the best today.
Extra is the lunch setting by Big r for my mother's day lunch of his homemade crab cakes, salad with pears, candied walnuts and gorganzola cheese, and broccoli with garlic and onions...delicious and many thanks chef.
"Let us answer the call this MOTHERS DAY TO UNITE and STAND IN SOLIDARITY with mothers and family members everywhere demanding justice for loved ones lost to injustice. Let Mother's Day serve as a reminder of what life's most teachable moments are really about: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all God's children, for all humanity"
Around 1870, Julia Ward Howe called for Mother's Day to be celebrated each year to encourage pacifism and disarmament amongst women.
